Server-Rack Cooling: The Physics That Kills Density Rollouts
A 42U rack is a chimney with the wrong thermal design. Here's how we design in cooling channels, hot-aisle sealing, and vented steel that lets our racks scale to real data-centre density.

The failure mode of a cheap rack isn't structural. It's thermal. Servers throttle, MTBF collapses, and the customer wonders why their data-centre floor runs hot even with adequate CRAC capacity.

Every PES rack ships with a vented front door (perforation ratio ≥ 63%) and a vented steel rear. Front-to-back airflow is preserved regardless of populated U-count.
Cable management that does not choke airflow
Vertical cable managers integrated into the frame keep patch cables clear of the airflow path. It sounds obvious. Half the racks we see in the field violate it.
42U is a design decision, not a default
For higher-density rollouts we routinely design 47U and 52U variants. Height is cheap — it's the frame stiffness and lateral bracing that decide whether the rack ships.
